Happy Easter~2009!
Again this year, we joyfully celebrated the RESURRECTION of our Savior, with many reminders and promises of NEW LIFE in HIM!

*Coloring Easter eggs (...oh the smell of vinegar and boiled eggs!)
*Traditional Easter "Ham with the Fam" Feast
(complete with the our annual "1st Strawberry Shortcake of the Year" dessert)
*A vist and Easter Baskets from Grandma & Grandpa Forred
*Jelly Beans, Peeps, Cadbury Eggs and Robin Eggs & other such delightful candies!
*And thanks to the refreshing springtime RAIN we enjoyed

Look what I found while dusting furniture today: See that enlogated, orangish thing at this bunny's feet? It's a CARROT. Yes, a REAL carrot. This reminds me of Christmastime when I found a Darth Vader Action figure in the manger scene.

It's Great to be EIGHT!

Yep! It happened. My little girl turned eight years old. What a growing year this has been for Katelyn. It's the year that her clothes needed to be hung up on bigger hangers. It's the year she quit wanting to dress in "twin" outfits with her sister. It's the year that her two front big-girl teeth came in. It's the year that she all but abandoned her toys. It's the year that her lightning fast tennis shoes started to gleefully chase and be chased by the cute 8 year old neighbor boy. (Remember your 2nd grade crush? Mine was "Stevie"!) It's the year that she told me that she wants to be just like me (let's not forget to remind her of that when she's a little older.) And, thankfully, not a moment too soon, it's the year that she decided to follow the example of our Savior, Jesus Christ and to begin preparation for baptism!
Katelyn is an EXCEPTIONAL daughter. Most things in life(so far) come easily to her, and because of that, she makes my job as her mom easier. It's so easy to be proud of her. She is a constant source of JOY.

Spring Snow

You know what the weather in Kansas is like...EVER-CHANGING. Spring rolled around and just as the grass was greening, the trees were budding and the daffodils were blooming, here came a snow storm! It was a beautiful thick and heavy snow that was mostly melted away by the next evening!
